Nicole Ari Parker has worked on film, television and also on stage. The actress is best known for her character Teri (the vigorous attorney) Joseph. Her name is currently her husband's name, Nikki Kodjoe. Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland she showed an interest in acting from when she was a child and won the Best Actress award in an Maryland high school contest. Contractor, a Mumbai-born Indian living in Nigeria from the time she was seven years old. knew a great deal about different cultures around the world and was able to travel at such a young stage. She attended boarding school in London between seven and nine years of age, and then her family moved to Toronto, Canada, where she lived the bulk of her childhood and young adulthood. Contractor studied classical ballet in Toronto. She also excelled academically. She was a student at the Etobicoke School of the Arts - a specialized arts high school that taught not only dance, but also drama. Contractor took the decision to study acting seriously at age of 16 following almost 10 years dancing. When she graduated from high-school and was awarded a full scholarship for tuition to University of Toronto where she was a theatre student with a dual degree in psychology and Sociology. Contractor landed her first role after a year of university. The 92 productions she performed received acclaim from Canadian theater critics. The conservatory at Stratford takes eight people, four women along with a couple of additional people to take a 20 weeks crash course. Contractor was guaranteed a spot in the following season of plays and landed the part of Hermia in A Midsummer Night's Dream.
